iPhone 5 release hinted at by large Apple handset orders
Apple is preparing itself for the iPhone 5 release date with orders of the eagerly awaited handset being increased ahead of huge fourth quarter sales predictions, new reports have claimed.
Despite suggesting Apple has lowered its iPhone 5 order volumes for the third quarter to 5.5 million units, down from 7 million, Chinese tech sire Digi Times has claimed Apple is to ship 20 million of its next-generation handsets in the year’s final three month period.
Whilst the lower third quarter shipping figures hint at a possible delay to the iPhone 5 launch, if accurate the huge fourth quarter quantities would see Apple’s handset quickly become the most popular device on the market.
With the iPhone 5 UK release date still shrouded in mystery latest iPhone 5 rumors have suggested the mooted device will launch in September with an Apple announcement tipped to be held on September 7th.
Further suggested iPhone 5 specs have seen the smartphone touted with supporting a 1GHz dual-core processor, slimmer form factor with a curved back and edge-to-edge display as well as an 8-megapixel camera with 1080p Full HD video recording capabilities.
