Apple iPhone and iPad under threat from latest HTC patent lawsuit in the US.
The HTC and Apple legal battles look set to continue as the Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer files a new lawsuit looking for the iPhone and iPad to be banned due to claimed patent infringements.
The latest lawsuit, filed with the International Trade Commission, sees HTC looking to ban Apple from selling products such as the iPhone, iPad and Mac machines and seek monetary compensation from what it deems as infringements on patents it holds.
"Apple needs to stop its infringement of our patented inventions in its products,” an official statement from HTC’s general counsel Grace Lei said.
"We are taking this action against Apple to protect our intellectual property, our industry partners, and most importantly our customers that use HTC products."
The latest case in a long and arduous legal dispute between HTC and Apple comes less than 24 hours after courts overruled Apple’s injunction preventing Samsung selling the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 to European markets less than a week after it was enforced.
