Skype-alike service will launch in September on all platforms.
Samsung has announced a new multi-platform instant messaging service, which will allow users of many different operating systems to connect with each other for free.
The ChatON app, which will be fully unveiled at the IFA tech show in Berlin later this week "redefines and democratises" mobile communication according to Samsung, who will naturally make the service available on its own Bada OS too.
The Skype-alike service will allow individual and group chats, as well as the ability to transfer images, files and voice messages across platforms including RIM's BlackBerry OS.
There'll also be a web-client and an element of social networking with users able to leave comments on each other's profiles.
The service, which will come to 120 countries and in 62 languages, will become available in the respective app stores next month, but will likely be on show at IFA this week.
